Things to consider before buying a Water Ionizer Machine

Nowadays, people are getting more aware about the health benefits of drinking Alkaline Ionized Water and that is why water ionizer industry started to boom. Water Ionizer is a machine which ionizes normal water in to alkaline & acidic water. Drinking alkaline water has many health benefits while acidic water is used for cleaning, bathing, etc. Water Ionizer is an expensive and sophisticated electric device. So while purchasing we have to be careful to select a high quality water ionizer.

Here we are exposing some truths and myths about water ionizers. They are listed below,

1. Number of Plates

The number of plates in a water ionizer is very important. The main function of these plates is to convert normal water into acidic and alkaline water with the aid of electricity passing through it. So it is advisable to purchase 7 or 9 or 11 plate water ionizer for better results. Another important thing about plates is its size, type and quality. The highest quality plates are made of titanium and then coated several times with platinum.

2. Thickness of Plates

Choosing a water ionizer with small, thick plates are not advisable because thickness does not matter much in electrolysis. But, the length and width of the plates matters a lot. If the length and width of the plates increases, it means its surface area is increased.  This, in turn, means an increased electrical contact with the water for better production of ionized water.

3. pH & ORP Claims

Power source of a water ionizer is also very important; the effectiveness of an Ionizer is determined by the amount of power that is being produced by the power source. The main three power sources using in water ionizers are Transformers, SMPS & SMPS Plus. Water Ionizer machines with 7th generation SMPS Plus® have a better consistent level of pH and ORP than using transformers.

4. Convertible Units

Some companies have water ionizers that can function as both a counter top and an under counter model. This idea is completely unrealistic because of the difference in the working and design of the under counter and counter top water ionizers. If you want an under counter model, buy an undercounter water ionizer, and if you want a countertop model, then buy a counter top water ionizer.

5. Less Power is Better

Water Ionizers with power source less than 100 watts are not worth considering. A water ionizer with 150 watts will never create the same pH and ORP levels as a water ionizer with over 550 watts of power. So less power is better a hoax only.

6. Non Electric

Non electric water ionizer means there is no ionization process through electrolysis. Mineral based non electric water ionizers just alkalize the water but it will not be ionized. So while considering health benefits Electric water ionizers are the best option.

The main features we have to consider while purchasing a Water Ionizer Machine:

Automatic shut off

This feature prevents flooding if ever you forget to turn off an ionizer.

Chemical free

Avoid water ionizers that use chemicals to achieve higher or lower pH levels because trace amounts of these chemical additives can exist in the plate chamber and end up in your drinking water.

Dual filters

It ensures cleanest water

Must have Safety features & Certifications

Like BBB, UL rating, ISO, GMP, IEC, etc.
